The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has spearheaded a movement to push the Conservative government to consult the public before pushing through plans to dismantle Canada Post. CUPW and other concerned groups rallied in front of Transport Minister Lisa Raitt's office on 12 September, deliverying over 10,000 postcards demanding the government "Make the Review Public".
There was a demonstration in Tel Aviv today in support of the postal workers. 2,200 protesters participated in a march which began at the Tel-Aviv Museum and continued to the Government Complex.
Histadrut Chairman Avi Nissenkorn said: "If no solution is found for the postal workers, beginning next week, government workers will take industrial actions"

So far, the responses from the finance industry unions for the initiative have been positive.
A federal district ruled on 10 September that over 500 current and former Walmart truck drivers in California can proceed with a class action lawsuit against the company it claims has violated state wage and hour laws.
The drivers accused Walmart of failing to comply with California state law by refusing to pay the minimum wages for all the hours they worked and for disregarding their needs for adequate meal and rest breaks.

Three global unions, representing millions of workers around the world, are mobilizing to back Cambodian garment unions’ demands for higher wages.
IndustriALL Global Union, UNI Global Union and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) are joining Cambodian garment workers in a day of action on 17 September calling for a rise in the minimum wage from US$100 to US$177.
