Swiss Post launches YellowCube all-in-one e-commerce logistics

YellowCube is the product of Swiss Post's strategic plan to focus on reaping the benefits of  growing online shopping.

It is a full service enabling retailers to outsource the order processing, storage, packing and handling, shipping, payments as well as returns of customers. These steps are all processed in a single new storage and logistics facility right next to Swiss Post's parcel center which enables very fast handling of orders to and back from customers. With growing e-commerce retailers are faced with growing complexity which they can now outsource to the post.

Property Services Global Conference in Liverpool

The UNI Property Services Global conference met in Liverpool today with delegates from affiliate unions from all over the world. 80 delegates from all parts of the union spent a day discussing presentations from unions in Turkey, Kenya, the Netherlands, USA and others. There were also presentations on airport organising and on International Justice Day for Cleaners and Security Workers.

UNI backs ITUC calls for international law to enshrine the right to strike

UNI Global Union has given its support to a new 122-page ITUC legal report, calling for the right to strike to be protected under international law. The report was released as employers try to overturn decades of jurisprudence at the International Labour Organisation. 
Employer representatives at the ILO are continuing their efforts to strip back ILO Convention 87 on Freedom of Association, which guarantees workers the right to take strike action, as the UN agency holds its 103rd International Labour Conference in Geneva this month.

OECD complaint filed against Ripley for violating workers’ rights

June 3, Chile - UNI Global Union, the International Trade Union Federation for the service sector, representing 20 million workers in 900 affiliated unions in 150 countries around the world, filed a complaint today with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) National Contact Points in Chile, Peru and Colombia, for RIPLEY CORP SA’s actions that seriously affect human rights and freedom of association of its employees in Peru.

Property Services UNI affiliates support for Justice Day

Over 70 delegates to the UNI Property Services Europe conference in Liverpool today gave their support for International Justice Day for Cleaners and Security Workers on June 16th. The delegates have agreed to mobilise support for the day of action in cities across the globe in order to organise amongst some of the lowest paid workers in the world.

The clenched fist in a cleaning glove is symbolic of support for these workers and UNI is asking all supporters to send in their selfie photos of themselves wearing the glove in solidarity
