Norwegian unions carried out nationwide political strike action for two hours on Wednesday in protest of the government’s proposed changes to the Working Environment Act.
The strike, which saw around 1.5 million Norwegian workers walk off the job, brought normal life grinding to a halt in the Scandinavian country and affected everything from schools and childcare services to public transport and air travel.
"The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) is raising awareness about the negative impacts of new reforms which go against the interests of people and development in India; the union organizes strikes, rallies and mass movements of resistance" said M.V.Murali, the Convenor of UFBU and General Secretary of All India State Bank of India Staff Federation [AISBISF].
UNI Europa Regional Secretary, Oliver Roethig said, “The Greek people have voted for change. After five years of austerity depriving people of jobs and youth a future, they have said enough is enough. The Troika has overreached itself and been met with a wall of legitimate democratic opposition.”

Regional Tripartitte Social Dialogue Conference (RTSDC) has played a significant role as a platform to exchange latest information and good practices on labour issues affecting workers, employers and governments in the region since 2009. This annual Conference is hosted by the Government who holds the Chairmanship of ASEAN. The 5th. RTSDC held in Brunei in June 2014, with the theme Occupational Safety and Health was hosted by Department of Labour, Brunei Darussalam and inaugurated by the Commissioner of Labour.
Unions belonging to UNI Global Union declared a day of General Strike, as ABI decided to withdraw from the National Collective Agreement.
A long negotiation without results..
During more than 12 month negotiation, for the renewal of the National Agreement for the Banking Sector, ABI (the Italian Banking Association), reaffirmed the great difficulties in which banks are involved.

As part of the EU-funded joint Intergraf and UNI Europa project, Future Skills in the Graphical Industry, a questionnaire was distributed in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Over 200 responses were received from Trade union representatives, companies and industry experts across Europe. These replies were then compiled into this final report which contains recommendations which are reproducible regardless of the country.
The report is a first step toward recognition, analysis and implementation of skills developments in the industry.
