80 armoured Prosegur vehicles take letter to Presidential Palace in Chile

Unionised workers from Prosegur in Santiago de Chile drove 80 armoured vehicles belonging to the company to La Moneda, the Presidential Palace, to present a letter to the country’s President Michelle Bachelet.

The workers’ action occurred after the killing of their work colleague Rafael Pardo Triviño last Friday the 31st of July in a shooting in the city of San Antonio in Chile.

Third anniversary of mass dismissal by Prosegur in Paraguay

30 July 2015 marks the third anniversary of the mass dismissal that left more than 300 Prosegur Paraguay workers and their families without an income. The 327 workers belonging to the trade union SITEPROPASA were dismissed in 2012, in Paraguay, for no other reason but for establishing a legal trade union and demanding a collective agreement, decent working conditions and the right to strike.

UNI and Ver.di Amazon campaign delivers for workers

A UNI-led campaign to highlight workers’ rights abuses at Amazon received widespread press and social media coverage after fantastic support from affiliates and other global unions.

Amazon’s Prime Day sale, which marked the company’s 20th anniversary, was renamed Shame Day during a joint campaign with UNI affiliate Ver.Di.
