More than a hundred members ALEARA (TU of gaming employees), UNI's affiliate in Argentina, took part in the demonstration in front of the Senate of the Province of Buenos Aires showing their concern about the planned tax increases. Ariel Fassione of ALEARA entered the Senate to deliver the letter to each member of the Chamber requesting to reconsider the changes in legialation.

UNI's general Secretary Philip Jennings sent a letter to the President of Argentina, Mr. Mauricio Macri expressing his deep concern about the situation in the gaming sector and asking the politicians to take all necessary steps to protect the sector with more more than 250,000 direct and indirect workplaces.

This is not the first action the union has taken. Earlier this year, workers of bingos organised protests against closing of a few establishments.
