Violence, particularly against women, is an epidemic social problem all around the world that can take many forms. It can be physical, emotional, psychological or economical. At the workplace, violence can have a serious impact in the productivity and motivation of employees, but if we work together, companies, workers and States, can we eliminate it.

Therefore, UNI Global Union, along with the International Trade Union Confederation and many other Global Union Federations, is working to achieve an ILO Convention in 2018 regarding Violence against Women and Men at the workplace.

From the 3rd to the 6th of October, experts from around the world will be meeting at ILO Headquarters in Geneva to discuss in the background documents and lay down the groundwork for this new Convention.

Violence is no joke. It can affect anyone, anywhere. Let’s keep our workplace safe. Let’s eliminate violence at work.
