UNI Global Union welcomes the Global Deal – a world-wide initiative by Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven.

Global Deal aims to strengthen social dialogue across the world by engaging with governments, businesses, unions and other stakeholders to enable all people to benefit from globalisation. At a time with growing inequality, Global Deal believes inclusive growth and decent jobs are the foundation for sustainable growth.

General Secretary Philip Jennings elaborates: “We fully support this work and through our more than 50 global agreements with companies in our sectors, we know that hard work and persistence gives results. For businesses, a strong social dialogue with employees reduces risk, boosts productivity, reduces staff turnover and strengthens the supply chain. Social dialogue has real human, social and economic benefits. I urge our affiliates to follow this work closely.”
