CIMB NIAGA INDONESIA; SIGNS A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
CIMB Niaga Employees’ Union – Indonesia (Ikatan Komunitas Niaga) [IKN] was formed in 2008. Union was scattered across the Indonesian islands; finally all branches unified and formed a national federation in 2012. UNI Apro Finance through ASPEK Indonesia has been extending support to the union to strengthen as a unified force.
IKN held its first National Convention after unification on 25th January 2014 in Bogor Indonesia. UNI Apro Regional Secretary Christopher Ng, UNI MLC President Mohamed Shafie attended the convention on the invitation of IKN. CIMB Executive Union President Mohamed Zubeir and General Secretary Ng Peng Ho IKN’s counterparts from CIMB home country Malaysia participated at the Bogor conference; extending solidarity support to the IKN.
Salient achievements of the 2014-2016 Collective Agreement signed on 18th December 2014 are; harmonisation of salary scales, payment of Cost of Living allowance, and payment of performance bonus scheme in a transparent manner, increased medical facilities and maternity benefits for the female employees and revival of the employees’ pension scheme rules. IKN says that they have put an end to the irregular recruitment systems of the bank.

CIMB - Malaysian Bank is aggressively expands its operations in ASEAN. CIMB NIAGA is its joint venture in Indonesia.
UNI MLC and CIMB Executive union officials have been guiding the IKN leadership in resolving many issues with the CIMB headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. IKN Chairman Roni Nofriyanto visited UNI MLC office in Kuala Lumpur and exchanged experiences about the collective bargaining process in June 2014. Alliance amongst the CIMB unions in the region has benefited the IKN Indonesia to finalize their third collective agreement expeditiously, negotiating in good faith with the management.
