On the 15th and 16th of May, 2015, the UNI Equal Opportunities Department with the support of FES will launch in the UNI Apro region the Mentoring Program in Singapore.

The program, which has successfully been implemented in Europe and the Americas, will begin its two year implementation period with an Opening Workshop. The workshop, will have the participation of 6 tandems with women from 7 different countries (Phillipines, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka).

During the two days of the workshop, the participants will be able to learn about the structure of international trade unions, clarify the roles of the Mentor and Mentee for the Mentoring Program, learn about UNI Equal Opportunities campaigns and projects and have a workshop on union organizing from one of our UNI SCORE organizers. 

Throughout the two years of implementation of the program the participants are expected to meet regularly and inform on their activities. Furthermore, they will be encouraged to implement the program within their own unions and countries in order to help expand the program and to make it a tool for organizing younger women in unions.
