Irish Early Years Educators: 'we are worth more!'
Early years educators are standing up worldwide!
Over one thousand Irish Early Years Educators, SIPTU members, took to the streets on February 17 to protest for increased investment to their sector. Watch the video here.
In Ireland, Educators can be paid as little as 4 euro 70 per hour and there is a long history of underinvestment in the early childhood sector, which educators and parents believe shows a complete disregard for the rights of the child and of the professionals working with them.
Early Childhood Practitioners and Parents demand that our government provides both increased investment and a cohesive early childhood education and care strategy, so that the children of Ireland can receive the best possible foundation in life.
