Members of the Korean Finance Industry Union [KFIU] are awarded with scholarships to meet 50% of the tuition fees for 4 years; when they enrol to follow financial management and accounting courses at the Prime College of Korea Open University.  

On 22nd October 2014, KFIU signed a MOU with the Korea Open University; to develop a joint program to design skills and job training programs in the finance industry. Although there are similar programs in manufacturing industries in Korea; this is the first time that finance industry trade union  initiated a collaborative approach with a university to come up with skills development programs for services industries.

Kim Moon-Ho, president of KFIU said that;  “ union aims  to provide further training for bank employees who are graduated from Professional High schools and working in the banks to enhance  career development, to become financial specialist in the future”
