FITERT and UNI Americas agree cooperation to grow union power in the major television companies across Brazil. During a two days intensive organising workshop leaders from the federation of broadcasting unions in Brazil, FITERT met with UNI Americas’ Director for Organising Benjamin Parton and the sector’s regional President Horacio Arrecceygor (SATSAID-Argentina)  to discuss the prospects of growing union power in the major broadcasting companies in Brazil. A strategic plan to build union density was elaborated. First actions will start in May and the campaign will be sustained throughout the year.

Zé Antônio Da Silva, Coordinator of FITERT said: “We are looking forward to work with UNI Americas in targeting our major broadcasters present across states in our country”. The campaign will focus on Rede Global in Rio de Janeiro, the broadcaster’s headquarters but will reach out to all states and unions affiliated to FITERT. UNI Americas and its media & entertainment sector will support the organising drive.
