Implementation of Dialogue in the Graphical Industry of Latin America

At this meeting we will once more have the opportunity to delve into a deeper level of the social dialogue UNI Graphical Global Union and CONLATINGRAF (the entity representing graphical and packaging employers in Latin America) have been undertaking since 2005.
This gathering will enable a new step in the dialogue established between unions and employers. At this time, a document to promote the presentation of legislative bills (on a par with what was done in Argentina) in all the countries of the continent will be signed. The aim of these bills should be to implement the measures established in the Declaration of Buenos Aires and the Declaration of Guarujá, signed by CONLATINGRAF and UNI Graphical Global Union.
It is important to underscore that a draft bill has been presented to the Congress of Argentina making it mandatory that companies taking part in bids and concessions under the aegis of the Argentine state must present a sworn statement declaring that all their workers and subcontractors are registered and that they do not employ children or unregistered workers. This law is inspired (as stated in its introduction) by the proposals generated by business and workers that can be found in the different documents drafted since 2005 and in proposals expressed in the collective bargaining agreements adopted by FATIDA and FAIGA (unions and workers of this country).
The President of CONLATINGRAF, Juan Carlos Sacco and other representatives of the business sector, as well as the President of UNI Graphical Michel Muller, and a delegation of union leaders from diverse countries of Latin America, Europe and Canada will be present. The Minister of Labor of the Republic of Argentina, Dr. Carlos Tomada, who has accompanied and closely supported the implementation of this strategy of social dialogue from the beginning is also participating. The President of the nation, Dra. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has been invited as a special guest to inaugurate the event.
In order to comply with Item 3 of the Guarujá document, the work plan to implement the Occupational Health and Safety Policy of the Graphical Industry of Latin America will be approved at this time
