Victory of SYNACOM - dismissed CAMTEL employees are back to work!

In January UNI received information about the struggle of its affiliate SYNACOM in Cameroun to protect workers from dismissals. Around 500 workers of CAMTEL were dismissed last year but UNI’s affiliate SYNACOM opposed to this decision which contradicted the statutory provisions of the CAMTEL as far as the retirement of the civil servant and government officials was concerned.



After a few months of solidarity actions supported by UNI, 300 workers were reinstated. The affiliate thanks UNI and UNI Telecom for solidarity support:
