Vacancy - Head of Department (Property Services)

Head of Department - UNI Property Services
A vacancy will shortly exist at UNI Head Office in Nyon, Switzerland, for the position of Head of Department for UNI Property Services Global Union.
UNI Property Services Global Union has developed a comprehensive plan to support the development and growth of unions and the improvement of working conditions for the millions of security workers and cleaners in the world. The plan involves three core elements: organising workers into unions, signing global agreements with employers in order to facilitate the organising process and campaigning for multinational clients to adopt UNI’s Responsible Contractor Policy.
In the past three years, UNI PS has signed global agreements with two of the three leading employers in the industry. It has created the Alliance for Justice at G4S, which involves unions in more than 40 countries in a groundbreaking campaign to achieve and protect worker rights with the leading security employer. This sector global union has helped to initiate and provide resources to organising campaigns in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Malawi, India, Mozambique and South Africa - helping to organise the industry as well as to develop organising capacity in these countries. Leading clients and owners of security and cleaning contractors which do not uphold basic standards are held to account on a global stage.
The aim is to build a model of global unionism which ensures that globalisation works for workers. The recent agreement with ISS, the world’s largest facilities management company with operations in over 80 countries, presents an opportunity to organise on a challenging scale.
The Head of Department is responsible for the development and implementation of the plans in this exciting and expanding sector.
