UNIDOC Bangalore providing computer training - upskilling!

It’s a known fact that to be able to compete for jobs in the open market, you need to have qualifications and skills that would enable you to get a head start. One such subject that would give school leavers a head start is the ability to use the computer and the programmes.
However not may people be able to afford to pay the fees to learn to use the computers. UNIDOC Bangalore has an innovative service to provide such earning opportunities to members, workers and school leavers to learn the hardware and/or software on a part time basis which takes from 3-6 months to complete. Each batch is kept at 6-8 people as the students are provided with hands on training by their dedicated teacher Miss Bharati. Miss Bharati explained that the syllabus used is similar to that used by other collages and it’s recognized by the authorities. She is very proud of her students that tried very hard to master the skills.

The writer was very happy to note that many young girls are taking the initiative to take the opportunity to learn new skills that would enable them to look for employment in higher paying jobs. In particular, this class has 7 girls and I young man. With better work prospects and hopefully, better working conditions these young girls would have more opportunities than their mothers to have a more equitable share in economic and social rights.
The class graduation was witnessed by Phillip Bowyer Dep.GS of UNI Global Union, Alice Chang Director of Commerce UNI Apro, UNIDOC Directors, UNICOME National Coordinator and UNITES Professionals.
