Negotiations have concluded successfully for a collective agreement for clerical staff employed by G4S Security Services (Malta) Ltd and deployed at Mater Dei Hospital. These members of staff are to benefit from improved working conditions and better pay. The agreement was signed by the Professional, Finance and Services Section of the General Workers Union and the company’s management.



The agreement was concluded after a number of meetings between the two sides and were held especially after G4S obtained further contracts for the emplyment of clerical staff and increased its operatons.



Apart from annual salary increases, the agreement provides for an increase in the bonus paid to the workers and improvements in health and safety at the workplace. It also provides for training of employess at all levels.



The agreement is an indication that the company’s willingness to improve the working conditions of its employees and of the GWU’s willingness to work with the private sector while remaining committed to safeguarding the workers’ interests.
