Participants attending the Mayr-Melnhof Packaging (MMP) Network meeting in Tunis, Tunisia on the 2-4^th June opened their two-day seminar with a minute of silence to mark their respect for the men and women activists killed during an Israeli attack on a boat convoy headed for Gaza.



In addition to the minutes’ silence, participants condemned the killings of the activists and the wounding of many more as an outrage and demanded that those responsible for this violation of international law be brought to justice.



The meeting supported UNI Global Union’s call for a full, open and independent inquiry to establish the precise details of what took place when Israeli soldiers boarded vessels in the convoy, which was organised to bring supplies to Gaza.



Delegates also endorsed the call that the blockade of Gaza be lifted unconditionally to enable the flow of humanitarian aid, commercial goods and persons to and from Gaza.



Delegates expressed their deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and hoped that all those injured will fully recover.
