Workers in the cash in transit business of Brink Belgium have been on strike since 27th Octover to defend their jobs and their rights. UNI expresses its solidarity with the workers at Brinks and calls on affiliates to express their solidarity with their plight.



The Belgian unions denounce the behavior of management and shareholders of Brink's trying to force it apart from any social dialogue. The joint trade union message was given to the Federal Minister for Employment, Joëlle Milquet on 9 November. The findings of the interview are:



- Trade unions are willing to negotiate to allow the company to restore its viability.

- For this, a meeting with a delegate with real power to bind the company must take place as soon as possible.

- The mandate of this person should be open rather than closed, as it is today.



Trade unions remain available to negotiate in this framework to achieve a balanced and acceptable solution quickly.



On the eve of intersectoral negotiations, the Belgian unions oppose any dismantling of the status of employees and advocates the elimination of all forms of discrimination which we can dismiss a worker in 4 weeks.



The Belgian unions have organised a meeting to protest against the actions of the Brinks management on Thursday 18th November 11am at the Belgian Interior Ministry. For any further details please contact -
