OME-OTE takes on industrial action over company cutbacks

Greek Telecom Employees’ Federation (OME-OTE) has decided to proceed with industrial action against OTE's arbitrary decisions for its workforce.



OME-OTE is protesting against the OTE administrations decision to:

  • impose cuts in allowances,
  • increase the working hours for all employees in OTE Group
  • lay off 120 employees in Cosmote ,

This was all decided without any consultation or warning.



As a response to OTE's decision OME-OTE will proceed on a 24 hour strike on Friday 4th March and continue with a new strike on Tuesday 8th March.



The union is calling on the Administration of OTE to withdraw the lay offs in Cosmote, to stop any activities of Managerial arbitrariness for labour issues which are regulated by bargaining procedures. We also call them to sign a collective contract with OME-OTE safeguarding the interests of all employees in OTE group.



The union and it's members are determined to continue their struggle and strike mobilisation's.
