The 6^th national conference of FIEUN was inaugurated by the former finance minister and central committee

member of the Nepali Congress, DR Ram Sharan Mahat. UNI Apro Regional Secretary, Bro Christopher Ng

attended as a special guest alongside with NTUC-I President Mr Laxman Basnet, Deputy Governor of

Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal) Mr Gopal Kafley, Chief of FES Nepal Bro Devraj Dahal, SASK Finland

Coordinator, Bro Sharan KC,Chief of LOFTF, Eric Neilsson and other distinguished trade union leaders who took

the occasion to speak on different issues of economic policy as well as trade union rights and trade union

movement in Nepal.







The National Convention passed various resolutions related to issues confronting trade union activities. They are:

• Organizing in the private sector of banks and insurance companies
• Empowering and capacity especially of its young and women members/ workers
• Network building among tripartite partners in the industry
• Organize regular social dialogue among the stake holders
• Intervention in policy level decision making process on behalf of labour and trade unions and to ensure fundamental

trade union rights are institutionalized in new constitution

• Participation in labour law reform process

The Convention also passed the decision to distribute the FIEUN Excellency Award to the best trade union

(and the management) among the affiliates. It also guides to establish a professional training institute in

cooperation with the Nepal Bankers Association which aims to build harmonious industrial relations in

the finance sector and to continue to build the professional skills and capacity of finance industry employees.





On behalf of FIEUN, the Chief Guest, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, honored Mr Christopher Ng handed over a plaque

of appreciation for his continue valuable support, guidance & cooperation for strengthen union activity empowering

FIEUN and its members.
