Deutche Bank Group employees on strike in Italy

Deutsche Bank AG (globally) is reorganizing the Corporate Real Estate & Services division through the outsourcing of the related activities. In Italy, this project took place starting the procedure of selling off a business unit of the company, the CRES Organizational Unit, together with the “buying” and “account payables” activities of the Global Sourcing Organizational Unit.
On Thursday 1st December 2011 the above mentioned activities and 52 employees of Deutsche Bank Group Italy would be sold off to ISS Facility Service S.r.l. (part of the Danish ISS World Group, with around 600.000 employees).
The 52 affected people, now currently employed under the Banks’ National Collective Agreement (C.C.N.L), would then be employed under the Cleaning and Multi-services’ National Collective Agreement (C.C.N.L), applied to the ISS Facility Services’ staff in Italy.
After a meeting with the Labor Unions FABI, FIBA, FISAC and UILCA, and with the approval of the relative Labor Union National Secretariats, the employees of the Group now intend to oppose to this sale and ask that all employees must be relocated within Deutsche Bank.
Unions and Workers oppose all purposes of contractual area’s fragmentation through the sale of business units outside the Banks’ National Collective Agreement (C.C.N.L). As a matter of fact, the sale that DB would realize seems to be part of a strategic plan made up by ABI (Italian Banking Association) and its members to reduce the Banks’ National Collective Agreement (C.C.N.L.) application area.
As far as information is concerned, it is deplorable that, during the negotiations neither Deutsche Bank nor ISS ever suitably informed the Labor Unions about the real economical situation of ISS. Actually, the Danish Group ISS World seems to have a debit of 3.67 billion GBP and this situation would have dissuaded G4S - a world leader in the security sector - from its acquisition.
Therefore, we fear that ISS S.r.l. (Italian branch of the multinational company) is unable to provide enough guarantees to the 52 workers affected, in terms of job security and professional skills. Moreover, no welfare support provisions are now in place in the category whose contract ISS Italy is applying to its staff (Cleaning and Multi-services). All attempts to find an agreement with Deutsche Bank proved to be ineffective. That’s why all employees of Deutsche Bank are on strike to oppose to this project and to demonstrate their solidarity to the colleagues.
