7th UNI-Europa Youth Summer School
20 – 22 June 2012, Riccione, Italy
Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to inform you that from 20 June – 23 June 2012, UNI-Europa Youth will conduct the 7th Summer School for youth activists from UNI-Europa affiliates.
The Objectives of the Summer School are the following:
1. To strengthen the union movement through young, well trained leaders
2. To mainstream young workers’ issues into UNI-Europa’s affiliates
3. To increase the active participation of young people in the structures and activities of UNI-Europa’s affiliates
4. To raise the confidence of young activists
5. To improve young activists’ negotiation skills
6. To improve young activists’ presentation and communication skills
7. To help young activists to identify their personal goals and targets
The 3-Day Programme will focus on enhancing the young activists’ skills in the following areas:
1. Communication Skills
2. Presentation Skills
3. Negotiation Skills
Through the use of interactive training methods, such as simulation exercises, video training, case studies and discussion groups the participants will practise their newly acquired skills.
The international environment of the seminar with participants from all over Europe will also improve the young activists’ understanding for cultural differences as well as tolerance and solidarity.
Interpretation
The Seminar will be conducted in English only. No interpretation will be provided. Participants need to have a sufficient level of English to be able to follow the Seminar.
Venue
The Seminar will take place at the Hotel Corallo, Via Gramsci 113, Riccione, Italy.
Flights & Airport Transfer
Flights and transfer from the participant’s home to the venue are not included in the price and have to be organised by the sending union. A taxi will be approximately 25 Euro from airport to the hotel. Please remember to advise us of your flight details as soon as they are booked.
Airport
The nearest airport is Rimini (Airport Code: RMI) which is located reasonably close to the hotel. This is a small airport but served by several airlines. The airport website is http://www.riminiairport.com However, it is possible to fly with low-cost airlines to Bologna (BLQ) and take a train to Riccione which may be cheaper.
Arrival and Departure time
As the summer school will commence at 09.00 on 20th June, all participants are requested to arrive at the hotel before 19.00 on 19th June. We will meet in the hotel bar area for a drinks reception and allow participants to get to know each other and break the ice. Departures should be on the morning of 23 June.
Participation Fee
The standard cost will be 650 Euro per person which includes 4 nights stay in the hotel and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner.) (Price is based on arriving 19 June and departing 23 June) The participation fee must be paid to UNI before the deadline or the participation will be cancelled. Details will be provided when you register.
Cancellation
Any cancellations received after 1 May will mean that the full participation fee may be charged to the respective union unless a substitute is found.
Expenses and Insurance
Travelling and subsistence expenses of participants are the responsibility of the affiliate concerned. UNI cannot take out insurance coverage for participants.
Registration
In order to ensure the desired quality of the seminar the number of participants must not exceed 25. Registrations will be confirmed in the order they are received. According to the UNI-Europa Youth Rules Participants must be no older than 35 years of age.
