Affiliation subscription from ASPEK Indonesia to UNI Apro will increase from IDR 1,000 to IDR 3,000 per month. The decision was reached at the 5th National Congress of ASPEK Indonesia held on 21-22 April in Central Jakarta where over 200 delegates and observers from all 9 sectors attended. The 300% increase in subscription fee is expected to improve ASPEK Indonesia’s financial independence.



The Congress was officially opened by Mr Guntoro, representing the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Republic of Indonesia. Invited guests include Mr Said Iqbal (President of KSPI), Mr Saiful DP (Chairman of National Assembly, KSPI), Mr Christopher Ng (Regional Secretary of UNI Apro), Mr Juha O Vauhkonen (Campaign Coordinator, SASK Finland) and Mr Achyad Munas, representing the CEO of Jamsostek.



Elections were also held for ASPEK leadership positions during the Congress where Mr Achsinanto Risantosa was voted Chairman of National Assembly and Mr Jaya Santosa was voted President of ASPEK Indonesia for 2012-2016. Elected as the General Secretary of ASPEK Indonesia was Mr Sabda Pranawa Djati, ex-President of Balai Pustaka Union. New Deputy Chairmans were also voted from each sector and will serve to represent their sectors in ASPEK Indonesia.



Other issues discussed during the Congress include the amendment in Organizational Statutes and Organizational Bylaws and the establishment of Organizational Policy Guidelines and Recommendation.



Mr Jaya Santoso called for a meeting after the inauguration with National Assembly leaders to establish several core executive boards which will be announced to the Congress later in May.
