On June 27, the workshop "How to regulate gambling and betting in Europe? Track record and perspectives" was organised in the European Parliament.



UNI Europa Gaming was present at the workshop with colleagues from French and Dutch trade unions.



Stakeholders (gambling operators, EU officials, other organisations) were able to hear about the EC action plan, the protection of the European consumers and the measures to be implemented so as to guarantee the integrity of professional sport within the European Union. Two European Commissioners, Mrs Vassiliou and Mr Barnier presented the ongoing EU policy and future measures.

UNI Europa Gaming is concerned about the increase in online gambling and its impact on land-based gambling establishments and possible loss of jobs as well as weakened consumers' protection. We call the European Commission and the employers for more dialogue and consultations with employees' organisations in the sector.
