UNI launched a solidarity action with Korea

The Korean workers have now been on strike for more than 3 months without pay. They are organizing a rally in front of ING Korea on Monday and Wednesday this week.
This collective action was a huge success and as of today, 1930 people have signed the letter !
The ING Management asked to stop this action and their email inboxes were flooded by our solidarity messages but we told them that we would not stop the action until a satisfying agreement would be signed with the Korean employees.
As a result of this global action and of the strong determination of the Korean unions, ING finally decided to go back to the table of negotiations and recently submitted a proposal to the unions. The proposal includes several months of salary pay as compensation for the ING sale, and some guarantees of job security after the sale. The unions have not accepted yet the offer and are now trying to negotiate the best conditions they can get for the workers. Both sides are now hoping that a good compromise will be reached soon.
Many thanks again for your support,
In solidarity,
The UNI Finance Team
For your reference, here is below more information about the action which was launched on the 17th of October:
The situation in Korea is becoming very tense. ING Korea, the Korean branch for the large bank ING, which has its Headquarters in the Netherlands, is undergoing a major restructuring process. Our Korean colleagues have been on strike for more than 75 days, asking senior management for a proper consultation with employees, to ensure that workers' rights are fully respected in this process.
Jay Choi (UNI APRO Korea Desk Coordinator) contacted UNI Global Union on several occasions, asking for our support to change the company's behaviour.
Our Secretary General Philip Jennings sent a solidarity video message and Marcio Monzane, Head of UNI Finance sent a letter to the ING management,
However, nothing has been changing so far.
Therefore UNI decided to launch a broader action in solidarity with the Korean union movement.
In order to increase pressure on the company, we are asking you to send a letter to the ING Management.
It is very easy and quick, all you have to do is to click on the message below, sign and press on the send button:
