On October 30-31, UNI ICTS organized a meeting on collective bargaining and organizing and Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe, together with FES and the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center. Twelve unions from 11 countries participated in the meeting in Athens, Greece, including 10 unions from CEE in addition to ver.di from Germany and CWA from USA.



During the meeting, the participants shared information and discussed strategies at the national and international levels with regard to organizing and collective bargaining. The unions pledged to continue their work and solidarity to ensure that workers’ rights are respected, that all Deutsche Telekom employees have a voice on the job, and that the company engages in productive social dialogue in all its subsidiaries.



The participating unions also sent a letter to the CEO of Deutsche Telekom, Rene Obermann, calling on him to ensure that the company fulfills its social responsibilities in all its operations.
