UNI Global Property Services has produced a damning report on the Human Rights violations perpetrated by the Spanish multi national Security Company Prosegur. The report focuses on 2 countries, Colombia and Paraguay, telling the factual story of how workers have been intimidated and fired for trying to form a trade union, for taking legitimate strike action and for refusing to renounce their union membership for improved terms. The report also records the ongoing employment and safety problems faced by workers in Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and Portugal.

UNI is calling on Prosegur to end its persecution of workers who are trying to enjoy the basic human right of trade union membership. As a major employer around the world they have a duty to lead by example against poor and unlawful employment practices. As a company that is bidding for work at the 1014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics it must conduct itself as a modern, progressive employer that respects human rights and trade union membership. This report spells out the state of the company as it is now and repeats that Prosegur must abide by International Standards on Employment Rights.
