"I want NFU to stand strong for the future in our work for a well-regulated, sustainable finance sector, and Arvid Ahrin is the right person to take us to the next level.” says NFU President Micheal Budolfsen. Arvid Ahrin, 31, has been responsible for developing NFUs work with influencing the EU, in addition to being Deputy General Secretary :
“As NFU and UNI Finance, we should continue our fruitful cooperation, but also seek to strengthen our common agenda because the challenges are daunting – we want financial institutions that deliver stable long-term results instead of maximizing short-term profit, and we need financial sectors that work for the benefit of society as a whole. NFU and UNI Finance have everything to gain from coordinating our efforts even more and working together to defend and develop finance employees’ rights everywhere – in the Nordic area, in Europe, and on a global level.”
EU and global financial regulation will continue to be of crucial importance for finance employees – and fundamental trade union rights such as the right to free collective bargaining are constantly being challenged by the regulators. In everything we do I want to emphasise the value of quality. We should use our different experiences and perspectives to learn from each other and develop even sharper and better informed policy positions. Together as NFU and UNI Finance, we are the voice that decision-makers cannot live without.
Finance employees are key stakeholders for creating stable and sustainable financial markets. In the heat of financial innovation and reform, NFU and UNI Finance should cooperate to deliver the win-win solutions that will drive tomorrow’s finance industry – because what is good for finance employees, is also good for society.”
