While T-Mobile and Orange are merging their mobile phone businesses, Vodafone UK is teaming up with BT to offer fixed and mobile services to small and medium sized businesses across the UK, as it already does in Italy and the Czech Republic.



The One Net UK launch comes shortly after Vodafone One, a fixed line service targeted at larger corporates, opened its doors in June.



Vodafone is currently number two amongst the mobile phone operators in its home market of the UK, and with the recently announced merger of Orange and T-Mobile, it looks set to become number three.



These fixed line strategies reflect Vodafone’s attempts to re-invent itself as a “total communications company” and to find a new place for itself in the market.
