Following the death of another France Telecom employee earlier this week, the company is taking further measures to address the health and safety of its staff.



On 15 October an employee in Brittany ended his life after taking a month of sick leave. This event came a few days after another employee attempted suicide in Marseille.



The company has taken numerous measures since the issue of its employees' suicides hit the media in mid-September. This week, France Telecom says that it will not continue with reorganisation efforts planned for the end of 2009.



In addition, France Telecom will employ 380 new staff before the end of the year in its technical and sales departments, and is planning to bring 1,000 outsourced jobs back in-house.



Staff will also have 10 more minutes each morning and evening to log in and out of call centre information systems, and an additional 15 minutes for receiving orders.
