Options for DHL Diegem employees who do not move



The unions at the European headquarters of DHL Express in Diegem have promised that workers who refuse to follow the move of the headquarters and have a Belgian contract will be part of a redundancy arrangement.

This was reported by Lode Verschingel of the Belgium union LBC-NVK.



The redundancy scheme does not apply to expatriates and workers with comparable contracts. Managers of the headquarters were informed about details of the move and learned that the headquarter relocates not only to Bonn, Leipzig and Prague, but also to places as far away as Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and San Jose in Costa Rica.



On Friday the unions will present their alternative plan to the staff.

January 26 will see further consultations with the management. Also next week a meeting with the European works council and consultations with the German trade union ver.di will happen.
