A UNI Graphical delegation visited the plant of Elanders USA in Atlanta to discuss with Management the expectations of the Global Agreement that UNI has with Elanders, particularly around issues like freedom of association, union recognition and company neutrality.



Members of the delegation were Tommy Andersson, VP of Swedish Union GS, Steve Walsh, HOD of UNI Graphical, Tim Beaty, Global Strategies Director for the Teamsters, Ralph Meers, President GCC/IBT Local 527-S and Eddie Williams VP, Sec/treas also from GCC/IBT Local 527-S. Marie Edholm from the Swedish Trade Union Journal Dagens Arbete (da) also accompanied the delegation.



The Company provided an overview of their operation and gave a tour of the facility, where we also had the opportunity to talk to workers.



Further discussions took place on the objective of the Global Agreement and the next steps in the implementation of the agreement including the objective of reaching a collective agreement.



The President of Elanders USA, Phil Warren will be responding within the next 3 weeks.



Steve Walsh, Head of Department has followed up with further correspondence to Elanders USA.



While in Atlanta we also met with the Georgia President of the AFL-CIO, Richard Ray.
