The bailout plan was approved by a large majority of the Senate. Modifications from the original plan rejected by the House include:

- An increase in the insurance limit on bank deposits from $100,000 to $250,000.

- Tax cuts for business and the renewable energy sector.

- Limits on "golden parachutes" of disgraced Wall Street executives.



The House of Representatives should vote on this new plan on Friday.
