In a letter to the members of the UNI World Executive Board, UNI General Secretary Philip Jennings responds to the Bush administration plan to spend up to $700 bn to bail out the US financial system. He argues for a plan which restores sensible financial regulation, offers real economic relief for America’s workers and their families, curbs excessive executive pay on Wall Street and gives taxpayers an equity stake in the firms that are being rescued.
