Update on the current strike in Dublin, Ireland:

The strike which started about 7 weeks ago, is continuing, as Laura Ashley so far has refrained from communicating with Mandate, the Irish affiliate. Last Saturday, more than 75.000 people turned up for a demonstration in Dublin and Irish media is covering the conflict extensively, thus helping build momentum and support for the striking workers. The workers from Laura Ashley are fairly young and female and thus defies the stereotypical perception of a striking worker. Mandate has received support from various Irish unions for the ongoing conflict, and UNI Commerce pays close attention to the conflict.
