UNITE has called for industrial action at the Smurfit Kappa plant in Northampton following the dismissal of a local union representative. Another union representative has been suspended, pending a further hearing which could also result in his dismissal. An external ballot was held and supported the action which will start on 24th March 2014 at 00:01 hours.
