The discussions were many. The participants active. Agreement clear - P&Ms are growing as a group across Africa. Their voice a necessary contribution towards achieving a sustainable, empowering future for Africa. 

The conference discussed strength in unity. Why the unions across Africa will stand united and fight for the fundamental rights of P&Ms. Fight against laws that prohibit managers and professional on joining unions and fight together to protect whistleblowers. The future world of work was high on the agenda. Nobody will be left unaffected by the two technological drivers of change: artificial intelligence and data. P&Ms will take the lead in making sure Africa benefits from digitalisation. From owning their data. To urging governments to move towards open source technologies. To good employer governance of employee data. 

The group fully realises the potentials and challenges of digitalisation and agree that securing access to up and reskilling is key for the employability of all workers - P&Ms included. 

The conference unanimously adopted the draft motions. 

Two candidates stood for the position as President of UNI Africa President. The newly-elected  Steering Committee titulars debated and elected Sister Tapsoba Lamoussa Stella from FESBACI-BF in Burkina Faso to succeed Francis Assenga, TUICO Tanzania, as the next President of UNI Africa P&M. 

Francis Assenga continues in the Steering Committee as titular member.
