UNI-PLC Signs Historic Memorandum of Agreement with Barangay Payatas

    May 4, 2009 was the most anticipated date by all the youth members of UNI-PLC since it was the day of signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the officials of Barangay Payatas, Quezon City and the leaders of UNI – Philippine Liaison Council.
    With the MOA, UNI-PLC Youth Committee will be at the forefront of social work activities with regards to the children of Barangay Payatas. If ever there are other non-governmental organizations or cause-oriented groups who are interested with doing social/charity work for the benefit of the Payatas children they would have to coordinate with the UNI-PLC Youth Committee. Such act by the Barangay Officials only manifests the valuable trust gained by the youth committee members through the many years of visiting Barangay Payatas and providing different assistance not only to the children but also to their families.



    Also, with the Memorandum of Agreement, the youth committee is expecting more assistance from local and international labor partners since having such an agreement brings more credence to the efforts being made by the UNI-PLC Youth Committee.
    The said historic event took place last Monday, 10:00AM at the Barangay Payatas Multi-Purpose Covered Hall and was concluded between UNI-PLC, represented by UNI-PLC President Lito Calderon, UNI-PLC Secretary General Jose P. Umali Jr., and UNI-PLC Youth Committee President Rainier Cruz, and Barangay Payatas, represented by Captain Rose Dadulo and some Barangay Councilors. Aso present during the ceremony ere several Barangay Nutritionists, children enrolled in the feeding program and the core group members of the UNI-PLC Youth Committee.
