In a letter addressed to its affiliate POSPERT, the Greek Broadcasting Trade Union, UNI MEI expressed today its support to trade union leader Dimitris Kamarinopoulos of the Enosi Technikon Ellinikis Radiofonias, ETEP who is facing a severe attack from management in retaliation for his union activities.

According to POSPERT this is a growing pattern of behaviour in this time of crisis and UNI MEI joins POPSERT in its demand of Management in Greek broadcasting to cease criminalisation of union action.

UNI MEI protests against the measures that management in Greek broadcasting employs to pressure employees and union members. Intimidation methods that Dimitris and colleagues face not only constitute an abuse of power and a disregard of trade union rights but also threaten the right to freedom of association of workers.

In a message to Greek Members of the European Parliament, UNI MEI urged European decision makers to take action in order to preserve the right to freedom of association and trade union rights.
