In a statement today, UNI-MEI called on the Korean authorities to release 20 media workers and unionists who have been arrested yesterday during a picket in front of the headquarter of public broadcaster KBS TV in Seoul. Police officers disrupted the peacefule picketing on its 50th day. The colleagues are demonstrating againts the government's poliicy which is stepping-up its grip on public media. During a demonstrating sveral weeks ago, media workers have been agressesd by police forces.
