The UNI ICTS World Conference is underway in Sweden with union leaders and industry experts set to chart a path for social justice in the new world of work.

From IT, communications and media to professional sport, UNI is the global body bringing workers together from the fastest growing sectors in the modern workplace.

Hundreds of union leaders and experts from every continent will examine the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid advances in digital technology as we enter the third industrial revolution.

UNI Global Union General Secretary Philip Jennings said, “Union organisation in the digital economy is not science fiction.”

“Unions have the creativity and energy to ensure that the age of technological disruption does not mean that we have to delete social justice.”

Unions are already on the front foot organising workers in ICTS. UNI is currently celebrating a major success in Morocco where for the first time call centre workers have won national recognition and collective bargaining rights in a 100,000-strong workforce.

The UNI ICTS World Conference takes place in Djurönäset, Sweden on 16th and 17th June 2015. UNI ICTS affiliates from more than 50 countries are in attendance.
