At the UNI Global Union IT Organizing Conference in Berlin, participants from all over the world agreed to send a message of solidarity and fraternal greetings to members of Unite who are in dispute with Fujitsu Services Ltd in the UK.

The conference noted that threats to pay, pensions and job security are significant within the IT sector and agreed to stand up for Fujitsu workers in Manchester.

It further noted the role that international solidarity and cooperation between trade unions and their federations can play as an important factor in improving the pay of members and protecting their job security and pensions.

The conference called upon UNI affiliates to:

• Share details of the dispute, including the website with affiliates
• Discuss the dispute in their own unions and workplaces
• Send individual messages of support and donate if possible to the hardship fund
• Write to Fujitsu management within their countries of residence and call upon them to negotiate meaningfully with Unite to settle this dispute
