UNI Global Union’s World Executive Board, meeting in Nyon, agreed that Making It Happen will be the theme for UNI’s next World Congress in Liverpool 2018.

UNI’s General Secretary Philip Jennings said, “Making It Happen sums up the spirit of the UNI family and the wider union movement. We have shown there is an alternative to the discredited neo-liberal model. Alternatives for unionists facing prison for their beliefs, refugees, climate change, trade and working people.

“We will keep up the momentum built up at our Cape Town World Congress in December on the road to Liverpool 2018. Breaking Through for organising and workers’ rights is part of UNI’s DNA and remains our overall strategic goal. Making It Happen will be our rallying call in Liverpool as Including You was in Cape Town."
