UNI's affiliate in Greece, OSETYP (Greek Federation of Gaming Employee Unions) informed us about the strike in Club Hotel Casino Loutraki. 1400 employees are on strike demanding the company to sign a collective agreement. After more than two weeks of the strike action, the casino management stopped operations. Such action is prohibited by the Greek Law. This is an unusual situation as the last lock-out in Greece happened 33 years ago. This clearly demonstrates the hostility of the management towards the union and thier unwilingness to enter into negotiations.

UNI Gaming supports the workers and calls the management to enter into the negotiations with the union, to start the process of concluding the collective agreement and to ensure the workers could get back to their jobs.

We ask UNI Gaming affiliates to send messages of support to OSETYP (oesik@otenet.gr) as well as to write to the management of Club Hotel Casino Loutraki (hr-career@clubhotelloutraki.gr) and the Greek Presidency of the European Union and the Commission of the Supervision & Control of Gaming (info@gamingcommission.gov.gr), demanding the withdrawal of the lock out and starting negotiations with the union in good faith.
