On May 9-10, UNI Gaming Global Union affiliates met in Madrid to discuss sector issues and to plan activities for the coming years. All four UNI regions were represented with over 45 participants from 12 countries. The meeting started with the general information from countries and reports of achievements so far.



Daniel Amoroso, UNI Gaming Global President, highlighted one of the major achievements - the first Global Agreement in the sector with a Spanish multinational CODERE. Participants were able to hear from Rafael Lopez, the Chief HR of the company, confirming the willingness of CODERE to work together with trade unions to improve the social and employment situation of employees.



Later discussions on on-line gambling and social partnership with employers' organisation started. Participants heard the opinions of representatives from the Spanish Lotteries, Spanish Gaming Association and Circa as well as a unique model of Once, the foundation for visually impaired people enabling them to work selling lottery tickets.



The meeting agreed on the following priorities for the coming years:

• organising and regional development;
• global agreements with multinational gaming companies;
• follow-up on online gaming;
• communication and better visibility in social media.

At the end of the meeting, Daniel Amoroso was unanimously re-elected as the sector President. The next UNI Gaming Global Conference will take place in 2015.
