Opel workers and local Belgian unions warmly welcomed an international UNI Europa Youth delegation at the Antwerp plant, yesterday.

GM's plans for closing the plant triggered resistance amongst its workers who have been blocking all movement of cars leaving the premises. UNI Europa's Youth delegation met with the workers and the union to hear their complaints and offer support.

120 young trade unionists were meeting this week in Antwerp to share experiences and build networks in UNI sectors.

Issues such as membership recruitment, decent work, union strength through solidarity were discussed as well as social themes of climate change and education.
