Trade unions around the world sent messages of solidarity to workers on the day that marked the anniversary of the unfair dismissal of 327 employees of Spanish-based company Prosegur in Paraguay.



On this occasion, UNI Global Union via its regional office UNI Europa, issued a video to express support for Prosegur workers' fight for better working and living conditions and to reiterate their support to the campaign to get unions’ recognition.



Laila Castaldo, policy officer in charge of Property Services at UNI Europa said:



“The anti trade union practices perpetrated by Prosegur are unacceptable. Prosegur is a European company and in Europe, as well as and in other part of the world, it should behave in a responsible way. It should respect the inalienable right of the worker to join a trade union and to demand a better working life. Prosegur should export the European social model rather than taking advantage of the South American system by preventing workers from forming a union. The union has been organized in order to achieve safer and more acceptable working conditions."
