"There is no medium and long term solution to the economic and employment crisis without a fundamental change in the financial system. We must start in the EU."



This was the strong message that UNI europa regional secretary Bernadette Ségol brought to employers and to the European Commission during the last ETUC/Businesseurope social dialogue meeting on 24th February 2009.



"We urgently need to see which proposals the Commission will make to control or ban wild financial products. The finance sector should not be allowed to return to business as usual".



The regional secretary will bring a similar message to the tripartite social summit meeting on 19th March 2009.
