We, the 250 participants at the UNI Europa Commerce Conference in Madrid on 9 and 10 June 2011 demand Walmart to immediately begin talks with UNI on a common framework for global labour relations and dialogue for all of its employees.



We strongly believe that everyone has the right to be organised in a union, to have fair wages, good conditions and a safe and clean working environment.



We will assist unions wherever Walmart is operating to increase union membership and we will encourage the development a good local, regional and global dialogue through the establishment of regional union alliances and of a global union alliance for Walmart.



We will engage with governments and civil society around the world in order to encourage them to take into account the track record of Walmart when making regulatory decisions regarding the company's participation in the local retail market.



We demand Walmart to enter into a global dialogue with UNI Global Union for a global agreement which guarantees basic worker and union rights. Such an agreement must include union access to the workers, the right to organise without opposition and full collective bargaining rights for all Walmart workers.
